Data that make a consistent register
Each entry should clearly identify the vehicle, driver, date, purpose, route description, distance travelled and odometer readings. The company should confirm the requirements for its particular circumstances with its adviser.
Automation as an aid
The app can reconstruct the timing and course of a trip, but it does not know the business purpose of a meeting. That is why a mobile record first arrives as a draft. The administrator adds the purpose, checks the odometer readings and only then approves the entry.
Odometer continuity
The final reading of one trip should match the starting reading of the next. Corrections must be visible and must not silently change earlier reports.
